Halloween 2009

Halloween was very fun his year. Justin had to work so I invited our good friend Dara and her daughter Kayleigh over to play for the day and make some fun halloween stuff - I LOVE HALLOWEEN- and then go trick or treating all over Gwinnett County that evening. We prayed all day that the rain would stay away but with no luck. It misted all day and all night long....but that didn't stop us!
Justin and I tried to carve the little pumpkins we had gotten for the boys - they stuck Mr Potatoe head like pieces in them for decorations. So we just pulled out those pieces to try and reuse the pumpkins.....didn't work out so well. Those things were so hard we broke 3 pumpkin carving kits! I ended up going to the store to get another one and broke it too! So i gave up and threw them out, luckly the boys didn't seem to care! :)

After Justin left for work Dara and Kayleigh arrived. We (me and dara- the kids got distracted) made "witches fingers" cookies, Pumpkin cookies, mummy hot dogs, marshmellow eye balls, and jack o lantern cheese slices for the kids. They enjoyed eating everything.....that we made :) Like I said, I love halloween.

Then it was time to get the kiddos dressed and out the door to make all of our stops on time.

First we went to Publix, since Justin had to work, so he could see them dressed up and they could trick or treat around the store. Then we went to Ms. Ann & Mr. Gary's since they always make the kids goodie bags. Then we stopped by Popop's house to let him see them all dressed up and take a potty break. Then we headed to Dara's neighborhood which is usually like the Holy Grail of Trick or Treating....this year, not as much.

We got over there and got out and were ready for action. We walked all over the neighborhood - all in a slight mist/drissle of rain through out then entire time we were walking. It was ok though. There was not as many people passing out candy or as many trick or treaters as in previous years but the boys still made out with a ton of candy. :) Lucky for us it was 75% GOOD STUFF! :) No junky candy this year- not to be ungreatful ya know but sometime halloween candy can be very dissapointing. About 9:00 the boys were tired and I was tired and we were all freezing cold and ready to go, so we called it a night. It was as much fun as i had hoped it would be ;)
